Allowing the home to breathe By utilizing layered textures and natural elements in the furnishings, we reconnected the formal historic qualities of the home with its relaxed surroundings. Peter and Mackenzie wanted a home that everyone can walk into and feel comfortable. This was heavily symbolized with the red door. In an old early American tradition, a red door meant the home welcomed weary travelers and that they were allowed to spend the night there for protection, rest and comfort. The comfort in the home also comes from the furniture selection and accent pieces surprising every corner and working simultaneously with the jute rugs to unify the home.
